On 19 November, from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm CET, the European Commission will hold a hybrid (in-person and online) workshop entitled ‘Workshop on the renovation of affordable residential districts: Learnings from the Affordable Housing Initiative’. This hybrid event is aimed at members of the European Housing Alliance.
The aim of this event is to present the results of the European Affordable Housing Initiative and to share the proposals and tools developed to drive the regeneration of residential neighbourhoods. Through various models of action and practical approaches, the event will explore how to translate these experiences to the local level and move towards more liveable, inclusive and affordable neighbourhoods.
The session will be structured into five thematic blocks:
- Session 1. Presentation of experiences and examples illustrating how new models for residential neighbourhoods can be realised.
- Session 2. Tools for designing thriving neighbourhoods. Exploration of proposals developed to guide the transformation of residential districts.
- Session 3. Round-table discussion: lessons from implementation models for European policy-makers. Discussion of the main conclusions and their potential application in public policy.
- Session 4. Group workshop: developing a step-by-step approach to neighbourhood regeneration. Collaborative work to define strategies that facilitate the implementation of proposals at a local level.
- Session 5. Sharing of findings and plenary discussion. Presentation of the results of the group work and a final exchange of conclusions.
This event offers an opportunity to share knowledge, identify transferable solutions and strengthen collaboration between stakeholders involved in the regeneration of residential neighbourhoods and the development of affordable housing in Europe. Registration is open until 16 November at 23:59 (CET) via this link.
