On December 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CET), the international event “Green Transition and Climate Resilience” will be held online. This brokerage event is designed to facilitate the formation of consortia and foster collaboration among researchers, public entities, companies, and social organizations in preparation for the upcoming calls for proposals under Horizon Europe 2027.
The event will place special emphasis on areas such as health, energy, mobility, climate, the bioeconomy, and, in particular, the New European Bauhaus. It will explore how the New European Bauhaus’s principles related to the humanities and social sciences can contribute to the design of more sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful neighborhoods and communities, aligned with the objectives of the European Green Deal.
During the meeting, the funding opportunities outlined in the Horizon Europe 2027 Work Program for the New European Bauhaus will be presented, with a focus on three calls for proposals that explicitly incorporate the participation of experts in the social sciences and humanities:
- HORIZON-NEB-2027-01-PARTICIPATION-01, focused on the transformative potential of co-governance and active citizen participation to drive the green transition in neighborhoods.
- HORIZON-NEB-2027-01-PARTICIPATION-03, aimed at developing new combinations of knowledge and research methodologies to address social challenges and promote a just ecological transition.
- HORIZON-NEB-2027-02-NEB-SOIL-01, focused on reducing soil sealing through sustainable urban and territorial design and actions to renaturalize built environments.
These calls for proposals will open in May 2027 and represent an opportunity for universities, technology centers, public administrations, companies, members of the civil society sector and NGOs, architects, urban planners, designers, and artists to develop collaborative projects with a strong local impact.
A Space to Present Ideas and Find Partners
One of the main highlights of the brokerage event will be its pitching session, where both specialists in the social sciences and humanities and experts in scientific and technological disciplines will have the opportunity to briefly present their skills, experience, or project ideas.
Afterward, participants will have access to a matchmaking session designed to facilitate one-on-one meetings and the formation of multidisciplinary consortia in preparation for the Horizon NEB 2027 calls for proposals.
