The NEB community of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology has launched two new calls for proposals as part of its Connect NEB and Co-create NEB funding programs, aimed at organizations across Europe that wish to develop urban and community transformation projects inspired by the principles of the New European Bauhaus.
These calls, which are complementary, seek to support initiatives that contribute to creating more sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful neighborhoods by fostering citizen participation and collaboration among public administrations, associations, businesses, and other local stakeholders. The first call is aimed at organizations wishing to launch community-led proposals.
In this regard, experimentation with new forms of citizen participation will be essential, such as living labs, co-creation processes, and innovative models of local governance—all strategies designed to increase residents’ engagement with their environment and foster a sense of belonging. This category offers grants of up to 18,000 euros. It is aimed at associations, NGOs, SMEs, artists, designers, research groups, and other actors committed to social innovation.
For its part, Co-create NEB funds projects developed through partnerships between communities, municipalities, and other organizations to carry out visible initiatives that transform public spaces and neighborhoods. The goal is to move from experimentation to the implementation of tangible improvements that generate a lasting impact on the built environment. It has a budget of up to 58,000 euros and is aimed at public administrations, municipalities, and universities.
Selected proposals will receive specialized support, peer-learning sessions with other similar European projects, visibility and dissemination of their ideas across the continent, and access to the EIT’s innovation ecosystem to enhance coworking opportunities and synergies.
