Following the closure of the NEB Facility 2025 call for proposals on November 12, the European Commission is already preparing for the next cycle of opportunities linked to the New European Bauhaus: the NEB Facility 2026-2027 program. This instrument, still in the draft stage, consolidates an ambition that the institution has shown this year through its NEB Prizes and Boost for Small Municipalities.
It is an interest in transforming neighborhoods across Europe through solutions that integrate, of course, the NEB values of Sustainability, Inclusion, and Beauty; and that, at the same time, strengthen social cohesion, local democracy, and the green transition. The draft Horizon Europe Work Program, in its section on the NEB Facility, outlines a structure based on three main axes:
- The connection between ecological transition, social inclusion, and local governance
- Circular and regenerative approaches applied to the built environment
- The development of new financing and business models for neighborhood transformation
Thus, the three lines of work from the previous program—Participation, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Urban Regeneration—are maintained, but with a more local focus that seeks transdisciplinarity, participatory processes, and strong involvement from local actors. All of this is done with a purpose that is already in the DNA of the European Commission’s initiative: the combination of technological, social, and cultural innovation.
From the perspective of neighborhoods, the calls for proposals, for which the application period is expected to begin before spring, are geared towards ecological transition, accessibility, and resilience, with a clear commitment to the circular economy, nature-based solutions, and new models of community investment.
The new Horizon Europe program places particular emphasis on the roll-out component of the NEB Facility, as it encourages applicants to complement European funding with opportunities at the national, regional, or local level, or from private sources, including philanthropic ones. It also cites other European Union programs that share objectives with the New Bauhaus, such as the Digital Europe Program, Creative Europe, the Environment and Climate Action Program (LIFE), and the European Maritime, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF). The complete draft can be consulted at this link.
Do you want to present your project and are you looking for partners to form a consortium?
With the upcoming launch of the new Horizon NEB calls for proposals, the Spanish National Contact Point for the New Bauhaus encourages interested entities to begin exploring possible partnerships between entrepreneurs, associations, companies, universities, and local and regional public authorities that intend to submit proposals to the EC and make their projects a reality.
This channel aims to facilitate the visibility of interests and the identification of potential partners, acting as a support and accompaniment mechanism in the initial stages of contact and networking.
If your organization, company, university, public administration, or social entity is interested in participating in European projects linked to NEB, as well as identifying strategic partners and exploring the possibility of leading or joining a consortium, you can prepare your statement of interest and write to us at contact@neweuropeanbauhaus.es. We can send you a specific form that we have prepared at the National Contact Point.
Through this partner search form, which includes a brief description of the project idea, its objectives, and the contact details of its promoters, we can publicize your interest and facilitate contact with other interested parties, without this implying formal recognition, and always for guidance purposes only. Don’t overthink it: Trust your project and submit it without hesitation to the next Horizon NEB 2026 call.
