The Local Chapters of the New European Bauhaus are citizen-led entities that bring the principles of Beauty, Sustainability, and Inclusion to regional communities, cities, and neighborhoods through grassroots work.
These are informal structures, managed by volunteers, which do not receive direct funding from the European Union for their operation. Their fundamental mission is to provide a local platform for diverse actors to collaborate on innovative projects that respect cultural diversity and regional particularities.
They offer tools, guidance, and solutions adapted to the local level, in a space open to dialogue that promotes awareness and commitment to the vision of a greener and more collaborative future.
In Spain, the NEB Local Chapter is called UrbActivistas, and was launched on December 5, 2024. Its creation was made possible thanks to public-private co-creation between EuroVértice, the Murcia City Council, and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena. This incubator of creative ideas joins six others throughout Europe to form an international network whose philosophy is aligned with the European Green Deal and, of course, with the objectives of the Spanish Urban Agenda.
