This is a project framed within the New European Bauhaus initiative, which, with European Union funding, will seek to collect and disseminate knowledge that enables the development and replicability of NEB actions throughout Europe.
It began on May 1, 2025, thanks to funding from the Horizon Europe program. This is when public meetings were launched that encouraged participatory proposals.
This is precisely one of the project’s pillars, which will also organize assemblies related to New Bauhaus values. It will also publish reports and European recommendations that will allow better guidance for entrepreneurs.
These initiatives will run until October 31, 2027, and will be recorded in the proposal’s new web portal, linked here. Among its main content sections, we can highlight its “Knowledge Gems” database and its “Project Map.”
Both constitute an important repository of practical resources and success stories linked to the principles of Sustainability, Beauty, and Inclusion, which inspire continued building and shaping of one of the European Commission’s current government’s key initiatives.
Specifically, in the repository of the so-called “Gems,” the take action activities and tools are of great interest. Thanks to explanations of physical and virtual resources in few words, they promote their replicability in different environments and sociocultural contexts.
This is the case of the Superbarrio. DesignYourHeritage tool from the Advanced Architecture Institute of Catalonia (IAAC), which through a gamified platform allows users to apply architectural heritage regeneration solutions and learn about their impact in cultural, community, and environmental matters.
For its part, the interactive Project Map section locates, by country, budget, funding source, and thematic area, dozens of innovative proposals and actions framed within the NEB Ecosystem. These refer to:
- Built environment
- Community participation
- Cultural heritage
- Digital innovation
- Education and culture
- Nature and resources
- Social inclusion
- Urban green spaces
- Urban regeneration
This web portal is also notable for its continuous expansion of content. That is why the European Commission encourages NEB project leaders to share their results and experiences by contacting the coordinating team of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and other partner entities from the “Share your knowledge” section.
