Following the press conference given by Marcos Ros Sempere, MEP, together with Elisa Ferreira, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, and Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Research, Culture, Education and Youth, a document entitled “New European Bauhaus Progress Report” has been published, which takes stock of the two years of life of this initiative.
This document mentions four outstanding issues of Spain in the New European Bauhaus initiative:
- Firstly, the implementation of New European Bauhaus projects is valued, among which the European Commission highlights the Architecture Quality Law, approved by the Congress of Deputies.
- Secondly, the document values the involvement of Spain in the field of Partners, being currently the country with the most Partners of the whole initiative with 80, followed by Italy with 79 and Belgium with 71.
- In third place, the European Commission individually values the Servicio Galego de Saúde as an important Partner in the initiative on the part of Spain.
- In fourth and last place, the document refers to one of the winning projects of the New European Bauhaus Awards 2021, NEST Project, which was awarded in the category “Solutions for the co-development of the built and natural environment”.
