Komun.es foundation is a place of encounter for all those groups or individuals truly committed to achieve a greener, sustainable, affordable, inclusive future at the local scale. Achieving this through thorough research and thought of privileged minds (architects, artists, scientist, innovators, engineers, biologists, entrepreneurs…) brought together by the belief that they can contribute with their professional knowledge to this common goal. The object and purpose of the Foundation is to SELECT IDEAS that, duly ANALYZED, RELATED, STRUCTURED, DEVELOPED and DISSEMINATED, can become CONCRETE PROJECTS whose objective is to improve the common framework of coexistence between people, in all their areas. Komun.es believe Seville given its size, diverse population, cultural identity and geographical setting, is the perfect laboratory for the analysis, research and testing of solutions to complex problems common to many European and international cities (eg. accessibility versus heritage, tourism pressure versus gentrification, global warming, green areas versus high density, integration of rural and urban areas, mobility, increasing social inequality etc.). KOMUN.ES also believes that we are still in time to find affordable solutions for these problems contributing greatly to social cohesion here and in so many other cities. Seville also has the huge advantage of being the home city to various renowned research institutions with international expertise that could contribute to the debate, For all these reasons we believe this foundation can be of great value to the goals of the NBE, and we offer our knowledge and efforts as to represent NBE in Seville in any way you may consider.

The activities of the Foundation are divided into two groups: RESEARCH: The Foundation has a SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE made up of ten Academic Doctors from various disciplines, in charge of selecting, analyzing and relating the ideas presented. In this sense, the Foundation organizes CONTESTS, face to face DEBATES and WORKSHOPS at its headquarters, in addition to virtual activity through the WEB. DISSEMINATION: The selected ideas are PRESENTED to the different entities with the capacity to FINANCE, and the professional structure of the Foundation supports the team that created the proposal to DEVELOP IT effectively. For this mission, the Foundation organizes CONFERENCES and face-to-face EXHIBITIONS at its headquarters, as well as EDITTING and PUBLISHING the selected projects in book format, for dissemination through its editorial line. The activities of the Foundation do not pretend to be great in scope, but rather in great DEPTH. We seek to discriminate INFORMATION (what there is?), Transcend KNOWLEDGE (what can I do?) And aspire to achieve WISDOM (what SHOULD I do?). For this, the work is directed by a SENIOR and LOCAL team, understanding that physical proximity and exhaustive knowledge of the vital context are fundamental to enunciate SERIOUS PROPOSALS of intellectual rigor. The scope of the PROPOSALS is logically unlimited, since the Foundation will freely share its proposals, both physically and virtually.
