Hispania Nostra.

Hispania Nostra for over 45 years is dedicated to the protection, conservation, and promotion of cultural and natural heritage in Spain. For that purpose, various programs and projects have been developed, trying to incorporate the latest innovation and technical achievements, but always combining with a holistic approach to the heritage. We have been working on promoting, both in Spain and abroad, a new way of living and understanding life where our heritage and knowledge coming from it have the central place. We strongly believe that only by learning from what previous generations left behind (in the form of cultural and natural, tangible and intangible heritage) we will be able to create a more sustainable, greener, and more enjoyable life.

• Monitorization of endangered cultural and natural assets through the Red Heritage List.
• Promotion of the financing of heritage through social participation in our crowdfunding platform.
• Organization of the conferences, thematic cycles, seminars, and debates on cultural and natural heritage.
• Implementing in Spain Heritage Education.
• Creation of the Hispania Nostra Awards for Good Practices for conservation and restoration of Cultural and Natural Heritage in 2012.
• Promotion of Heritage Tourism as a dynamic element of economic and social development, involving city and town councils, local businesses, and tourists in the enhancement of cultural and natural heritage.
• Publications, such as the journal “Hispania Nostra” and “Patrimonio Cultural y Derecho” (Cultural Heritage and Law).
• Dissemination of the principles, resolutions, and recommendations of international organizations (Council of Europe, European Union, and UNESCO) related to protection, conservation, restoration, rehabilitation, management, promotion, dissemination, and enhancement of cultural heritage.
• Promotion and request of the legislative, fiscal, and administrative measures necessary to comply with their fines.
• Offering a legal and technical guidance service.
