NASUVINSA is a public company dependent on Navarra Government, whose role is to provide technical and operational support to the regional Government in the implementation of its policies, most notably its Housing and urban planning Service. NASUVINSA also plays an active role in the interinstitutional collaboration with local authorities in the implementation of their development and strategies. Nasuvinsa, also, manages and promotes, industrial states and public rental housing stock. Moreover, NASUVINSA also manages the Navarra Sustainability Agency, LURSAREA, entity in charge of the development of studies and indicators of planning and territorial foresight, and the execution of projects for the sustainable territorial development of the Autonomous Community of Navarre. NASUVINSA works to consolidate its position as a company of regional and national reference in the execution of policies of territorial and urban planning in the matter of housing and economic activity, with a management system that is based on the optimum use of the resources and the patrimony of the company, being more sustainable, inclusive and accessible. Navarra (English: Navarre, Basque: Nafarroa) is a Spanish Chartered Community located in the north of the Iberian Peninsula. It has an area of 10,391 km2 and a population of 640,000 inhabitants of which approximately one third live in the capital, Pamplona, and more than half in the metropolitan area of the same. Its GDP is 18,246 M €, which places it as the 14th regional economy of Spain by volume of GDP. In terms of GDP per capita, which is a good indicator of quality of life, in Navarre in 2015 it was € 28,682 compared to € 24,000 per capita GDP in Spain. This figure entails that its inhabitants are among those that have better standard of life of Spain, since it occupies the 3rd position in the ranking of GDP per capita of the Autonomous Communities. The main industrial sectors in the region are Agri-food, Automotive and Renewable Energies.

NASUVINSA has a long experience in renovation, urban planning, innovation, social housing and sustainability. NASUVINSA also plays an active role in the interinstitutional collaboration with local authorities in the implementation of their development and strategies. Innovation and Planning Area is the area of the company in charge of raising, proposing and developing European and strategic projects in different fields as can be: Housing, Sustainable Urban design, Urban Renovation and Renewal, Land Management, Industry development, Energy Efficiency, the fight against Climate Change or any other topic of interest for the company or the Navarra Government. Innovation and Planning Area coordinates these activities together with the Navarra Government, the Navarra Delegation in Brussels, other public entities, technology centres, public bodies from other regions and different funding organizations from Spain and European Union. Its experience in urban and territorial sustainable development has allowed an important European projection. NASUVINSA has participated in the European Week Regions and Cities (ERWC) of the Committee of the Regions from the EU, Energy Transition group of the European Urban Agenda, Passivhaus Construction Platform, different European Interreg programs (Sudoe, POCTEFA, Europe and Atlantic Arc), VII PM Intelligent Energy and H2020 among other international forums. In addition, it takes part nowadays of the LIFE IP NAdapta project, led by Navarra Government. Furthermore, it offers consulting through its participation in different national and European platforms as EnerInvest or Rehabilite and it focuses its attention in the study of innovative solutions exploring new ways for the implementation of social innovation criteria in sustainable urban planning, housing and social renting or energy efficiency in construction. It may be noted that the development of these projects gave NASUVINSA the chance to explore different financing mechanisms for energy efficiency projects together with the analysis of this market situation in the region. NASUVINSA works in different projects related to energy efficiency and Climate Change resilience in Navarra through cross-sectorial coordination, long-term sustainability, participation and networking in different actions lines as Life Nadapta project). It has a multidisciplinary team working on the different Departments of the company approaching the Climate Change resilience since different perspectives. One of the main strategies of the company is the approach of the real state in relation to energy efficiency together with other approaches as green industrial state reconversion. The current Navarra Social Housing plan is implementing nearly zero energy buildings under the Passivhaus standard. More than 1,000 dwellings will be built through the region. Together with this, NASUVINSA is developing since the Stardust project, an open management platform for the control and management of the buildings it owns in addition to other actions and living labs as implementation of energy storage in new houses developments. Moreover, and related to the existing housing stock (both proper and private), NASUVINSA manages different renovation projects (SustaiNAVility) and plans (LC Districts) where overall regeneration processes are being developed and fostered in different districts of Navarra. Always with the aim of achieving deep urban regeneration processes of the areas.
