Collegium Academicum.

Winner of the NEB 2025 Champions Award in the ‘NEB Affordable Housing Award’ category.

It is a pioneering student residence that combines affordable housing, sustainability and community self-management. The structure, which accommodates 176 residents, has been built using a metal-free timber system, allowing for easy dismantling and reuse. It is also designed with flexible modular spaces that can be adapted to different stages of life (including use by older people).

Another notable feature is its renewable energy supply via photovoltaic panels and battery storage. The initiative is based on the principle of self-governance by its occupants and offers affordable rents. Future residents participated in the design, a feature that reaffirms its status as an urban laboratory for the green transition.
