Winner of the 2nd NEB 2025 Champions Award in the category ‘Reconnecting with nature’.

Green Elderly Care’s mission is to improve the quality of life for residents, especially the elderly, by creating a green and biodiverse environment that encourages social interaction, participation and belonging. Scientific research confirms that meaningful nature-based activities and strong community ties contribute to well-being. The project is inclusive and participatory, ensuring that all residents, regardless of their physical, psychological or social needs, benefit.

The project promotes awareness of sustainability through practical activities such as observing and documenting insects, butterflies and birds, creating nest boxes, nest box cameras and shelters for local species, and learning about the role of plants and animals in the ecosystem.
