Winner of the 1st NEB 2025 Champions Award in the category ‘Prioritising the places and people who need it most’.

The proposal is based on an innovation centre located in a former factory building, operating at the intersection of four key areas of regional development: the new economy and urban planning, contemporary art and education. It is an impact investment project where investors simultaneously contribute resources to generate social impact in the region while receiving investment returns in the form of dividends.

It revitalises a former industrial site while reducing environmental impact through the reuse of materials, responsible construction and smart energy solutions. The focus is also on well-being, as one of the key objectives was to maintain the building’s historical identity while transforming it into a welcoming and functional space.

With this philosophy in mind, the design team restored the original industrial elements (exposed brick walls, steel structures and large factory windows) and combined them with contemporary architectural elements, sustainable materials and open-plan spaces.
