After the debate on September 13 about the Report of the New European Bauhaus, it is approved in the Europarliament.
After more than years of Ursula von der Leyen’s announcement about the creation of the New European Bauhaus, a report presented in the European Parliament about this project was approved last September 13.
The European Parliament demands that the New Bauhaus has a better structure, in addition to requesting that it can count on a greater economic muscle to be able to carry out the projects that sustain it. For this, it has been requested to develop a selection and financing criterion, since “this will be the only way to make the New European Bauhaus worth something”, as stated by the Socialist MEP Marcos Ros Semper. In addition, it has been proposed to encourage the financing of the New European Bauhaus can count on private investment.
Finally, the European Parliament has asked the Commission to take the necessary measures to prevent the New European Bauhaus from becoming an elitist project that favors gentrification, since from the outset it has been intended to improve the quality of life of citizens, the creation of healthy spaces, etc.
