Zentropy MICE

Selected in the second call for proposals by the EUI, this initiative developed in Valencia aims to promote a more sustainable model of conference tourism that reduces the carbon footprint of professional events, improves urban heritage, supports the digital transition of the sector, and offers more enriching experiences to participants.

In the context of the European Green Capital 2024, the project incorporates programs focused on sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, and renewable energies. It also uses an impact calculator to rigorously measure how conferences affect the built environment, with the aim of designing more responsible interventions.

Zentropy MICE plans to develop a reference manual to facilitate the replicability of the study and diagnosis, as well as the resulting model, in other European cities. To this end, it has the participation of Valencia City Council, the Conference Center, Valencia Capital of Innovation, the Polytechnic University, the Visit Valencia Foundation, and the consulting firm Khora Urban Thinkers.
