Furnishings cluster.

CENFIM’s mission is to promote the competitiveness of interior products member companies through innovation. We are passionate about designing and executing projects in the interior furnishings sector, as well as taking a collaborative co-design approach to overcoming current and emerging challenges in interiors design.

CENFIM Cluster involves in a straightforward manner 140 affiliated companies, including home and contract interiors products manufacturers, retailers and auxiliary industries motivated by innovation from furniture, home textiles, lighting, bath, paving and other sectors (covering all the interiors value chain). The cluster has a total outreach of more than 2.600 companies across Spain and many other entities across the EU. CENFIM Cluster activities fall into three fundamental categories:

  • Market intelligence.
  • Product and process innovation.
  • Training.

 

Market intelligence: Activities in this category are mainly devoted to giving access to market intelligence in relation to interior furnishing products and contract projects (collective spaces), as well as combining efforts for promoting the cluster members on relevant sales channels and markets. A multi-channel strategy is developed: marketplace activities, physical showrooms, internationalization campaigns, and physical&online talks.

Product and process innovation: This category covers the following activity fields on interiors design innovation:

  1. Digitization (smart spaces, Industry 4.0 technologies with special attention on smart/IoT products and Human-Computer Interaction technologies).
  2. Circular Economy (eco-design, sustainable materials, processes and organizations).
  3. Product Design (product ideation, creativity, trends analysis, user requirements definition-validation, analysis of users perception / pre-market validation).
  4. Organization Management (shared value creation, open innovation and co-creation methodologies).

Training: Activities in this category address the identification of training gaps in employees working in the interiors sector and the development of new skills through an updated range of training materials and programs. Tailored training activities hold by CENFIM Cluster are mainly focused on the digital and green transition of furnishings companies.
